Das Europäische Übereinkommen vom 7. Juni 1968 betreffend Auskünfte über ausländisches Recht (BGBl. 1974 II S. 937) ist nach seinem Artikel 18 Abs. 2 für |

Lettland hat dem Generalsekretär des Europarats am 2. November 1998 folgende Erklärung zu dem Übereinkommen notifiziert: |

"In accordance with the provisions of Article 2, paragraph 1, of the Convention, the Republic of Latvia declares that the receiving agency of the Republic of Latvia is the Ministry of Justice (Brivibas bvld 36, Riga, LV-1536, Lativa/fax: 371-7-285575, phones: 371-7-280437, 371-7-282607). |
"Im Einklang mit Artikel 2 Absatz 1 des Übereinkommens erklärt die Republik Lettland, daß die Empfangsstelle der Republik Lettland das Justizministerium (Brivibas bvld 36, Riga, LV-1536, Lettland/Fax: 371-7-285575, Tel.: 371-7-280437, 371-7-282607) ist. |

In accordance with the provisions of Article 2, paragraph 2, of the Convention, the Republic of Lativa declares that the transmitting agencies of the Republic of Lativa are Ministry of Justice (Brivibas bvld 36, Riga, LV-1536, Lativa/fax: 371-7-285575, phones: 371-7-280437, 371-7-282607). and the General Prosequctor's Office (O. Kalpaka bvld 6, Riga, LV-1801, Latvia/fax: 371-7-212231, phone: 371-7-320085)." |
Im Einklang mit Artikel 2 Absatz 2 des Übereinkommens erklärt die Republik Lettland, daß die Übermittlungsstellen der Republik Lettland das Justizministerium (Brivibas bvld 36, Riga, LV-1536, Lettland/Fax: 371-7-285575, Tel.: 371-7-280437, 371-7-282607). und das Büro des Generalstaatsanwalts (O. Kalpaka bvld 6, Riga, LV-1801, Lettland/Fax: 371-7-212231, Tel.: 371-7-320085) sind." |

II.
Das Zusatzprotokoll vom 15. März 1978 zum Europäischen Übereinkommen betreffend Auskünfte über ausländisches Recht (BGBl. 1987 II S. 58) ist nach seinem Artikel 7 Abs. 2 für |

in Kraft treten.
Lettland hat dem Generalsekretär des Europarats am 2. November 1998 folgende Erklärung zu dem Zusatzprotokoll notifiziert, die nach Artikel 5 Absatz 3 am 6. Mai 1999 wirksam wird: |

"Nach Artikel 5 des Zusatzprotokolls erklärt die Republik Lettland, daß Kapitel II des Protokolls für sie nicht verbindlich sein wird." |

Diese Bekanntmachung ergeht im Anschluß an die Bekanntmachungen vom 14. Oktober 1998 (BGBl. II S. 2945) und vom 11. Dezember 1998 (BGBl. 1999 II S. 15).
